Marquees & Structure's
Traditional Marquees
All traditional marquees are measured in feet.
Traditional Marquees have poles and guide ropes to keep them up, these guide ropes will add a further 4ft 6 inches around each side of the marquee foot print (Example: A 12 by 12 feet marquee has the foot print of 21 by 21 feet). The Guide ropes are tied off to 2.5ft pins/stakes which will be hammered into into the ground because of this it is essential that the installation site is free from all underground utilities. The top of the king poles must be a minimum of 10 metres from any overhead power lines. Please note Traditional Marquees cannot be erected on hard standing.
Framed Marquees
All Frame marquees are measured in metres.
Framed Marquees are a free standing aluminium framework with PVC covers, they do not require guide ropes and have no centre poles giving more unrestricted space.
These marquees can go on hard standing but require heavy ballast to keep them in place.
These marquees can also be installed soft standing but like the traditional marquees would require 2.5 ft stakes/pins to keep them in place so again the installation site must be free from all underground utilities.
Geodesic Domes
Geodesic domes are a free standing frames with a colourful PVC cover and do not require guide ropes they have no centre pole giving more unrestricted space.
These structures can go on hard standing but require heavy ballast to keep them in place.
These structures can go on soft standing but require 2.5 ft stakes/pins to keep them in place so as with the marquees the installation site be free from all underground utilities.
Circus Tent
Circus Big-tops have poles and guide ropes to create their structure, these guide ropes will add a further 6 metres around the foot print. (So our 24 metre round big-top requires 30 metres of space)
The Guide ropes require 1.5 metre ground pins to be hammered into into the ground so the installation site must be free. The top of the king poles muse be at least 10 meters from any overhead power lines.
